Spring Softball

Spring Softball has started again!
Alyssa has decided that she would rather play softball than continue in ballet, so...
here we go again!
Alyssa's Team is a Travel Softball team.
The team is called SWAT
S-Softball
W- With
A- Atti
T-Tude

Kyle wanted to come and check out one of Alyssa's games.
When we got there we found out that they canceled the scrimage game and it would only be a practice.
So Kyle got some game grub and hung out!

Here is Sissy at Practice.

Last night she had another game.
Luckily she knows most of the girls on her team already. Alot of them were on her team when she played before!

She is the blue blur in the outfield.

Jackson and I were enjoying the cool breeze.

This is their team pitcher.
She is REALLY GOOD!

Unfortunately they dont have Alyssa's uniform yet.
There was a problem with the order and poor Sissy has to wear clothes that are "close" in color!

Here she is on the field!
She has lot's of attitude!!
LOL

She is a really good batter!

Unfortunately, she got hit by the pitcher TWICE last night! Ugh! Poor Sissy!

Here she is on Second Base waiting to run!

When she made it to third she was soooooo excited!
Luckily, her coach was right there to tell her when to RUN!!

She did make it home and scored a point for her team!!
But, last night her team lost by ONE point!
It would have been a tie, but the umpire changed his mind...
He called an out on the other team as one of the girls slid into home, then he changed it after she got up and walked away and said, "Actually, I think she was safe."
Isn't that CRAZY??

Quilting, Quilting, and More Quilting

I have been quilting up a storm!
I am loving making all of these scrap quilts!
Part of my Process Pledge is that I will show what I am in the process of doing, not just showing finished products!
I went through my stash and filled these two bins with fabric that I can part with.
I am going to use these to make some more quilts for my Quilted Hugs project!

Here is Jackson in my sewing room. I made him this pillow and I stuffed it with scraps that were too small to keep!
He loves it!
He either sleeps here or under my chair while I am sewing.

This quilt is a round robin that I really want to finish in time for summer! This is a ME project!

I replanted my garden.Only a few things are shooting up, but soon it will be covered in GREEN!

Also, I have added to my row of shrubs.I am hoping that they start to fill out soon!

As I was downloading the pictures onto my laptop, Jasmin had to come and check out what I was doing. I haven't posted any pictures of her lately, but she is just so cute- I had to fix that!

I feel so blessed today!
My hubby is still home and we are getting so much done around the house.
We have been working on the yard and working on my "honey do" list!
I am so thankful for a hubby who wants to do things for me.

I pray that you have a GREAT DAY!!
Hugs,
Lisa

Simple Woman's Daybook!

FOR TODAY
Outside my window... Clear Blue Sky's!!
I am thinking...God is in control even thought it seems that everything is up in the air!
I am thankful...That Detto is home!
In the kitchen... There are dishes in the sink and NO cooking is going on today! LOL
I am wearing... Comfy clothes. :)
I am creating...Many quilts for the Quilted Hugs Project!
I am going...to the store later.
I am wondering...How is God going to work all of this out?
I am reading...P.S. I Love You & Bad Girls of the Bible.
I am hoping...I get to sew with Lisa next week!
I am looking forward to...Enjoying some of the changes around here.
I am learning... To trust God in Everything!
Around the house... The kids are laughing and playing.
I am pondering...The Women's Bible Study questions.
A favorite quote for today...2 Corinthians 4:16-18  So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,  as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
One of my favorite things... Dark Chocolate Truffles and Wine!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
I plan to work on finish quilting the three quilts that I have pinned.I am looking forward to spending time with our friends Jessica & Blake! And.... I can't wait to do this weeks Bible Study!!
A peek into my day... Relaxing, Quilting, and enjoying my FAMILY!!
These are Stephen's Band buddy's! They came by this week to practice.

Process Pledge Update & Quilted Hugs Update!

I have been up to a LOT of sewing and Quilting lately!
I have been able to get sooo much accomplished!
I just thought everyone would (of course) want to see my lil' fluffy - Jackson!

Here is what is on my design wall right now.
All I need to do is add these last borders.
(You cannot tell that they are not sewed on)

These are the quilt tops that I have finished so far! Last night I pinned three of them so I can start quilting them!
Yippy!
I have several on each hanger.
I have made a total of 10 new quilt tops!
Hoot Hoot!
GO LISA!!

This is the quilt that I am working on quilting!

I finished quilting it today and now all I need to do is add the binding!

In my "spare time" I am making this scrap rug. These are made out of old clothes and sheets.
If there is any interest in a tutorial I will make one.
Just leave a comment and let me know.

Tell me what you think...

I have made a few changes to my blog and I was wondering what everyone thinks...
Have you even noticed??
LOL

I changed the background, the music, and I have added the adds on the sides.
Have you checked them out?
Are they useful?
I am just wondering because I am not allowed to click on them....

And because I am not allowed to click on them it makes me what to.

I feel like a little kid... telling me not to do it makes me want to go and do it.
Why am I like that??
Ugh!
OH WELL!
But, You are allowed to check them out, so tell me what you think about the changes I am making.
Soon I will be posting some updates on my Quilted Hugs "Self" Challenge!
I am making GREAT progress!
I hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of SPRING!!
I just love this time of year!
I have been SPENDING tons of time outside!
But that is another post for another day!
Be Blessed!
Hugs

Quilt Show Fun!

Lisa and I met up with Lisa's Sis-In-Law, Nancy, at the quilt show and enjoyed checking out all of the quilts!

I could spend hours looking at the quilts!

I really enjoyed looking at the minatures.

Look at the work that went into this!

The demo's were fun too!
Hopefully I will be able to use some of the tips and tricks that we learned!

This years challenge was to make a quilt about shoes:I thought they were very creative.

Check out the sparkles!

I thought this was interesting!

I really enjoyed this quilt show.
I actually spent less money than EVER!
I really surprised myself!
I wish there were quilt shows around more often!
Oh Well!
I guess I should be thankful for what I have!

Courageous: The Movie

Courageous
I do not normally do "movie reviews", however this one is different.
This week, my family and I sat down for a Family Movie Night to watch Courageous.

I cried through most of this movie.
This was such a moving tale of friends, fathers, and officers.
I was so touched by the many stories, messages, situations, and encouragement that this movie had to share!
Courageous: The Movie
Check out this link!
I must encourage & challenge EVERY family to watch this as a family!

This is what the movie makers have to say about the movie:
Honor Begins at Home
Four men, one calling: To serve and protect.  As law enforcement officers, Adam Mitchell, Nathan Hayes, David Thomson, and Shane Fuller are confident and focused. Yet at the end of the day, they face a challenge that none of them are truly prepared to tackle: fatherhood.
While they consistently give their best on the job, good enough seems to be all they can muster as dads. But they're quickly discovering that their standard is missing the mark.
When tragedy hits home, these men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering. Can a new found urgency help these dads draw closer to God ... and to their children?
Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the movie making ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. Riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.
Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.
Maybe I should give away a copy of the DVD?!?!?
What do you think?
Leave a comment and let me know what you think...

Mount Dora Quilt Show 2012

Once Again Mount Dora Hosted it's annual Quilt Show!
This years show was AWESOME!!
Lisa and I went and checked it out together!
My flash on my camera, that is only 1 year old, broke while I was in Mexico.
So.... my pictures have a yellow hue to them.
Sorry :(

I love checking out all of the GREAT quilts!
It is amazing what people dream up!
I am sooo drawn to Log Cabin Quilts!
I just might have to make my own!
I am a scrap quilt LOVER!!

I also love applique!
The detail on this quilt was great!
I love the echo quilting as well!

I am also thinking of doing an entire quilt like the borders of the quilt shown above.
What do you think?
I love the block setting on this quilt! I always think the blocks need to be set in rows or on point, but this is so freeing!

This quilt has a funny story. Lisa and I walk around and discuss what we like or don't like about quilts in the quilt show.
Well, we were doing that about this quilt and...
(THANKFULLY, this is one we liked and thought was interesting)
the quilter just happened to be standing behind us with her friends.
Her friend said, "So you like it? She made it!" And she proudly pushed the quilter forward.
So I decided to get her picture.
Well, the men (the quilters hubby and friends hubby) commented on how they "HELPED" with the quilt too!

So I got their picture as well!
I wonder what they did - maybe bring her water, compliment her, leave to go golfing so she could work on her quilt??? LOL
I want to make a Lone Star Quilt like this one day!
I asked one of the quilt shop owners to hold and class, but she hasn't yet!

Aren't these baskets cute?

I love art quilts.

I thought the details on these houses were adorable!

I love the spinning affect of this quilt.

Look how small...The blocks are aprox. 3 inches.

This quilt was a memory of the quilters homeland.... England!

I love the multi-dimension of these trees.

This is a great cafe scene! I love the details!

Red Hatters at tea! So fun!

This is one of the many Round Robin Quilts that I came across!

I love some of the traditional block quilts!

I will show more quilt pictures tomorrow, but I must say
Lisa and I really enjoyed the quilt show!
