Quilts In Progress

I have taken my blue star blocks that I have made and or swapped and decided it is time to make them into a quilt top!!

Then I hurted my poor lil' finger!

I have to go to the ER and have them cut on my poor baby finger twice. Ugh
Do you see my boo-boo??
The Dr. was not sure if it was a spider bite, bug bite, or just a cuticle infection.
All I know is it hurt when they numbed me and TONS of puss came out!
That made this project a little more difficult.
But I was finally able to find a layout that I liked.

Waiting for my finger to heal meant, no typing and definitely NO BLOGGING!! I was able to check my email and look who helped me!
She is soooo cute!
Juliette is just so helpful!

These chair cushions have been begging to be recovered, but... Remember my finger?!?!

Finally, I was able to get to them!

I found the fabric at the thrift store.
Luckily, I was still able to shop even though my poor finger was hurted! LOL

I hope you have been much better than me!!
Hugs,
Lisa

Process Pledge / Quilting Update!

Lisa and I have started a Quilt-A-Long!! We cut our fabric for 14 blocks and then we picked the last two on our own! This Friendship Circle is one that I paper pieced! I did a variation of the original! I picked this one for my other block. Here it is cut and waiting for me to sew the pieces together....

Here are two blocks that I got in the mail this week. These are apart of the Boomerang Swap.

And... This is my QAL that I am marking so that I can finish quilting it!

Also... These are two blocks that I made for a swap partner. I got so hooked on the log cabin blocks that I made earlier this week I made this one with Posie Fabrics.
 Her theme is Posies. So... I also made this one...
I used these Star Struck Blocks as Leaders and Enders!
If I am able to keep this up I will have this Star Struck Quilt finished soon! Here is the original that I got my inspiration from. This is a great way to use up scraps!

Process Pledge Update!

This is my Process Pledge update! I'm not sure who cares, but here goes anyways!
This is Lisa and I cutting blocks for a Pinwheel Quilt-A-Long found here!
We cut our blocks, now we will do our own Quilt-A-Long!
Here are the blue and white star blocks that I recieved for my May and June Block Swaps!
Here is what I'm working on today... This is a mini-quilt that am going to quilt TODAY!!! I made the backing out of scrappy fabric (I forgot to take a picture of the backing). I am going to sandwich this, pin it, and quilt it tonight! This will be a quilt for me to sell at the Ocala Womens Convention on the 26th!
Also... I have to finish sewing this top together. I am not sure if I should do a solid back or scrappy??

Here is my International Round Robin Block that I am making. I cut out and fused all of this, now I just need to finish applique'ing it to the background fabric!! I LOVE IT! I was supposed to have this send out by the 10th oops! I sent an email saying that I was running behind! I think I am going to add a border to this once it is finished to make it bigger. The bigger your starting block the bigger the finished project and I want this quilt to be HUGE!!

This is another block that I got in the mail this week from my Boomerang Swap! I love it!

So that is my process update for now!
Today I plan on getting LOTS of sewing done. I cant leave the house. Alyssa and Stephen have been hackin' it up all day and night. Ugh. I might have to run to Publix for more Gatoraid and crackers!
Pray for them!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I love Blogging and have been REALLY busy lately! I joined a few more swaps and that has kept me going in the sewing room!! My best friend Lisa talked me into joining a Boomerang Swap! It's where you send 35 Fat-Eights (11 inches X 18 Inches) to other swappers they make you a block and send it back! The hard part is all 35 of them also send you a F8 (Fat Eight) and I get to make them a block! It really gets me out of my comfort zone. I tend to pick colors that are soft or neutral and BLUE is definately my favorite color to work with right now! Some of the fabric that I get are.... Uh.... Not Blue!! hee hee!
Here are some of the most recent blocks that I have made:
I have made a new NON- Boomerang Rule for myself! For every block I make for someone else I have to make a similar (not identical) block for myself! Maybe this way I will be able to crank out some quilts for friends and family! Its fun!!
Down on the SQUARE!!
Yesterday, I took Stephen to watch his friend play music in the Villages! If you have never heard of the Villages, WOW!! It is a Retirement Community, but it has changed the town that it is in!! You can find out more here!
D.J. was playing guitar in his fathers bands farewell concert! They have been playing in the Villages for 13yrs. They play a few times a month and they play the Annual Chili Cookoff!
It was fun watching the people dance and groove to the music!! Stephen and I spent most of the time making faces at D.J. and just observing...
I was happy that I ended up next to a woman who was embroidering pillowcases!! I got to talk to her about what machine she uses and her techniques!! I learned some new stuff!! Yeah!!
Alyssa joined us midway through the show and she had a blast! Alyssa is more of a free spirit!! Her eyes LIT UP when she spotted a Clown across the square. She had to get a picture with the clown and they she drifted back over to find out about the face painting and balloon animals!!
Then she danced and danced and danced and danced some more!!
I really enjoyed our time!!
When we got home I finished making a diaper bag for a friend of mine and I organized my sewing room for my Super Bowl SEW-IN!! I am doing a UFO Challenge!! I'm really excited about it!!
This is one of the blocks that I just finished for another SWAP!! It is an iron!!
