Friday Night Sew In

Thankfully, Lisa came over to sew with me on Friday Night! 

I finished this quilt top right away. 

I only had to add the borders.

I had whipped these blocks together and I saw a picture that I thought would make a fun layout.

Sometimes not using a pattern makes quilts turn out different than what you picture in your head. 

Lisa had several projects that she was working on. 

I just love using my new iron!

So this is what my first layout idea was.

This was idea #2.

And finally, idea #3.

The center didn't change, just the outside border.

So, once I picked a design I started squaring up the blocks so I could put it all together. 

I really like how it was turning out.

Lisa was having too much fun with my camera! LOL

It is actually nice to have people in the pictures. Lisa was working on her Jelly Roll Quilt!

I decided to add another border.

Here is Lisa when she was almost done with her Jelly Roll Quilt!

And finally,Her finished quilt top.

I love how quick and easy it was for her to make this. I plan to use some of my jelly rolls to make one too!  

And what is a sewing night without a new quilt idea...

Friday Night Sew-In coming up!!

I am really excited about participating in the upcoming FNSI (Friday Night Sew-In)!!
Here are the details:Finally - date May 21st. Hopefully that works for everyone who wants to participate!


If you are new to the FNSI - here is how it works.

1. Enter your blog info at: http://handmadebyheidi.blogspot.com/2010/05/may-friday-night-sew-in-and-giveaway.html . **If you don't have a blog - you can enter the Flickr group link as your URL.
2. Make a post on your blog - letting all your readers know about the sew-in. Spread the word.. we could all use the virtual sewing support and encouragement.
3. On Friday – 05/21/10 - Get your house settled, put on your comfy jammies.. maybe make a cup of tea.. and sit down to work on some of those projects (or anything else that you want to work on.. maybe you want to knit.. or catch up on scrapbooking).
4. Then, sometime on Saturday - Make a post about what you worked on.. show us a picture or two on Flickr.

Friday Night Sew-In Results!

I am trying my best to participate in this new group Called the Friday-night-Sew-In...
With Detto being home, it makes it more challenging! I LOVE that he is here and so I end up wanting to spend time with him and I have to Make Myself go into my sewing room, well... Kind-of!!

Anyways.... Last night I finished making the last 3 borders for my Shabby Chic Quilt Back! I cant wait to have it finished. Then I sewed them together, now all I have to do is add them to the quilt back and then it can be QUILTED!! Yeah!!

I also added a border to my 2009 BOM!! Yes, I know its 2010, but I had to take it apart and fix something!! Now all I need to do is make the back for this quilt! I'm really excited about working on UFO's! I love the feeling of completing and Un-finished Object!! Hee Hee Hee!!

I am working on my postage stamp quilt and I finished about 15 more 4 patches for it last night... Yeah!!

And... I finished about 5 blocks for my Quilts for Kids quilt!

I really accomplished alot! I was surprised at how much I was able to get done! I work on my postage stamp quilt as my leaders and enders so it is always being added to! I wonder how big I will end up making it??!!
