Field Trip to the Theater ~ The Boxcar Children

Sissy and I got to go see a play at the Orlando Rep Theater last week!

We went to see "The Boxcar Children"!

We went with our homeschool group.

Here are a few of them - The Patterson Family!

I really liked the display of rain barrels that they had in the theater.

They were all hand painted.

Sissy found a piano! She is so cute!

Here is Alyssa and her friend Grace.They used to play softball together. I like Grace's family. They are good Godly people.

After the show, Sissy and I went and got Chic-Fil-A.

We went to Mead Garden to eat together!

I really love spending one on one time with my kids. Some people ask me if I spend too much time with my kids. Quality is much different than Quantity. I don't think it is possible to spend too much time. We only have them for a little while!

When we are homeschooling, it sometime seems like we are spending quantity not quality. We are focused on the lessons, not on each other. I like one on one time when I can hear my kids thoughts, dreams, goals, and listen to their HEARTS!

This little squirrel came right up to the table and stole a fry off the seat! LOL

Yes, I put the fry there to see if he would take it!

Alyssa said I shouldn't take pictures of her while she is eating her food. I wonder why she feels that way?? LOL

Returning to Guanajanto!

After we finished up our tour we headed back to Guanajanto!

I think it is a little gross to see this stuff being sold on the sidewalks! It just doesn't seem sanitary!

Pop Pop was oblivious to Stephen blowing him kisses in the car! Noni and I were cracking up and Pop Pop was carrying on a conversation with the driver in Spanish!

The mountains were soooo pretty!

I liked this hotel entrance.

It is sometimes hard to get good pictures in a moving car!

I love all of the bridges, statues, and sights in Mexico!

Both Alyssa and Stephen Completed their Spanish courses!

It was nice that they each got a certificate!

That night Stephen and I headed to the town center and look what was going on....a dancing competition!

I love how this theater looks at night!

Theatro Juarez in Guanajanto

This is the local theater in Guanajanto.

The stained glass window was really cool.

I love all of the details in this theater.

Everthing was hand painted.

This painting is HUGE!! You can't tell from the picture, but it was at least 7 feet high.

This town is soooo beautiful!

Holes Play and Picnic

We had a great day today! We went to see "Holes" as a family. It was so much fun. The kids were so excited about showing Daddy where we go and see plays at. Also, the kids were able to introduced him to their friends. The theater had some info on the book vs. the movie vs. the play. It was really neat!

The stage and scenery was some of the neatest that we have seen yet!! It was cool the way they showed the mountain and they "holes"!!

After the play we have a relaxing picnic in the park!! Locke Haven Park is very nice and we really enjoyed it!

We all layed down for awhile and enjoyed watching the trees in the breeze!!

Alyssa and I looked for shapes in the clouds while Detto and Stephen played catch!!

It was so nice to be out with Detto and the kids and to enjoy the day. It seems like were are always in such a hurry. Today it felt like time stood still for a little bit and we were able to - just be a family!! I LOVE HOMESCHOOLING!!
