The Library of Congress Part 3, The Supreme Court Building, & The National Archives

I love that we were in Washington together as a family. It was so cute to find all of us on our phones at the same time! I thought it was funny! I was taking pictures, Detto was getting ready to record a video of us, and the kids were checking texts. I love technology!

Here we are outside of the Library of Congress.

All of the buildings are so pretty!

And look at these views. Its crazy that we walked underground in a tunnel to get this far.

This fountain was really pretty. I didn't expect to see such a HUGE fountain here. Such a pleasant surprise!

My lovelies!

Then we walked over to see the Supreme Court Building!

Look it's Detto!

The details on this building are amazing.

Here we are!

My kids always look so happy that I love to take their picture. LOL

We then walked over to the National Archives.

The statues outside of the archives. It says "What is Past is Prologue."

We stood in line to see the "National Treasures"!
It was cool seeing the actual Declaration of Independence, The Bill of Rights, and The Constitution of the United States!! Wow! Were were right there!

This statue outside of the National Archives says "The Heritage of the Past is the Seed that brings forth the Harvest of the Future".

"Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty"
We were not allowed to take any pictures of the inside of the building.  Except in the Gift Shop where Alyssa showed me her Abe Lincoln impersonation! LOL

More pictures tomorrow!

The Library of Congress Part 2

We stood in line to go and view the reading room.
I was so excited!

This place was massive.
The artwork and details were amazing.

There were statues of famous authors surrounding the books on a balcony.

We were only able to view the reading room for a few minutes because there was a line of other people wanting to see it.
So... We headed to an exhibit that they had about Central America and the discovery of America.

Then we got to see....
The Gutenberg Bible!!
I can not believe that I saw it!!

How cool is that?

After we looked around we decided to head to the gift shop and get a souvenir ornament and a book!!Look what I found?
So funny!

The Library of Congress

We took the tunnel from the Capitol to the Library of Congress.

Look we made it! My lovelies!

Look it's me and my babies.

Sissy was excited to see a Paul McCartney poster!

I love that there was a whole Bob Hope section! It was so cool!

There were so many details. If someone isn't looking in every direction, they would miss a lot.

This place was breathtaking!

Even the skylights were stained glass and detailed.

I loved these lady authors pictures around the library.

These were in each corner of the room.

Check out this room!

There were sayings all around the room.
I like that the "U's" were in the shape of "V's".
I wonder why?

I took a panoramic picture of the place.
I will post more tomorrow.

Lisa
