My Birthday in VENICE aka Venezia!! Part 3

After lunch we got to check out this instrument museum...

It was very small, but the instruments were very cool!

Check out this tower....

Did you know that Pisa is not the only leaning tower in Italy?

There are actually several towers that lean more than Pisa! I was shocked to find this out.

I dont know if you can tell from the picture, but this one leaned ALOT!

Then we went to St. Marks Square and...

We went into the Bascilica.

There are signs EVERYWHERE that say "No Photo's Inside", so.. I wasn't able to get any pictures of the inside of the Bascilica, but it was REALLY PRETTY!!

After that we checked out the Bridge of Sighs.

Right now it is under restoration/construction, but at least we got to see a glimpse of it!

Then we did an "authentic Walking tour of Venezia" =

We got lost!

 I think if you have to get lost somewhere, Venice is the place to do it!

We found Marzipan.

None of us had ever tried it before, so I bought some...

 Let me just say, it wasn't my cup of tea.

It tasted like stale "Circus Peanuts"! Yuck!

All day long we gave out crackers to the homeless and beggars! I think we got more out of it then they did!

Sam bought herself a really cute hat!

Then we had GELATO!!

And I had my very own authenic Italian Cannolo. Did you know that Cannoli is actually plural?? We have been saying it wrong this whole time!! Who knew?

Overall, it was a GREAT birthday. The only thing missing was DETTO!

 I could have stayed here ALL DAY LONG!! It was just amazing!

After we checked out the artwork, we checked out the PIZZA!!

Samantha and I both paid... She paid inside at the desk and I paid the waiter outside at the table. It was funny trying to explain to them how we paid the bill twice. I guess they hadn't dealt with those English words before!! LOL

Check out this little bitty house. They sure do squeeze them in!

Venice Part 5 - The final Chapter - Week 5

Venezia is definately a city I will be returning to!

This place is so amazing...

This is the famous Rialto Bridge!

The gondolas in front of the bridge are so pretty. Everyone of them is different!

I couldn't believe how busy this bridge is!

This was the decoration on the side of the wall protecting a home.

In Italy their homes are their "everything"! They are constantly painting, cleaning, changing, etc their homes!

This is the Bruchetta Pizza that I had for dinner!

 We ate at a little pizza cafe'! It was really YUMMY!

This is a hotel on the Grand Canal. The balconys were so pretty! I would love to stay here someday!

Our train home was delayed for 135 minutes, so we sat on the steps of the train station overlooking the Grand Canal and we got to watch Venice go from day to night!

Venice at night is just as pretty as Venice during the day!

 

Venice - I love you! I will definately be back!

Thank you Angela for being such a great tour guide and showing me all over this beautiful "enchanted" city! Venice was my FAVORITE city in Italy!
