Well, she begged and pleaded and so... I gave in. I was surprised to find I already had two suitable patterns that could be altered enough to fit what she was wanting. Instead of watching the Super Bowl, Alyssa and I worked all night to make her a "Old'n Time Dress"! This is what we made....

Making a Civil War Dress
After going to the Civil War Reenactment and watching all of the ladies walk around in their "big puffy dresses". Alyssa "NEEDED" one too! We looked at several in the "town" area, but I didnt want to pay $75- $200 for "play clothes"!

Civil War Reenactment
I had never been to a Civil War Reenactment. I have been to several battlefields all over the country, however I REALLY wanted to see a battle up close. I was intrigued at how it was all done. All of the men and women were wearing "period clothing" and using REAL "period weapons". It was amazing to watch. It was a VERY SLOW process, but we really enjoyed it all!
Life in the camp.
On the Battlefield...
The Medic tent...
When we got home Alyssa decided that she wanted me to make her a "Old'n Days Dress"... I will post our results soon!!

Lately....
Lately, I have been "thinking" about things. I am staying REALLY busy. I am too busy. I miss my days of teaching school in my jammies and reading to my kids! Lately it seems like I am RUNNING 100mph everywhere. Maybe this is a good thing, but I can't see it yet?!?!?
I know my blog lately has been 90% pictures, but that is all I can seem to do is post pics!
I plan on doing another tutorial soon.... Let see how long that takes. LOL
Here are some pictures of the stuff we have been up to....
