Spring Break 2014 ~ The Ringling Brothers Museum ~ Part 1!

This year for Spring Break we all jumped into the car and headed down to Sarasota, FL.
I have been wanting to go to the Ringling Brothers Museum for several years and this year we finally did it!

These two are so silly! I love that Brooke loves to have her picture taken!!

I got a picture of her!!

Oops she notice me with the camera...

This place is HUGE!!

This girl is so pretty!
We arrived just in time for lunch...We ate at a nice out door restaurant!

Isn't this nice?

We were sitting next to a pond!

Look I got a picture of Brooke!!

And another one...

And another one!She is so pretty!

Smiling!

After lunch we headed in to see the displays!

This painting was HUGE!

I could not believe all of the details!

The people are life size, so that should help you with the size.

I loved all of the old vintage advertisements that they had displayed.

Look at what they are doing...WOW

My subjects were in a silly mood, so this was the best picture that I got!
I will post more tomorrow.
After this area we headed into the miniature display!
It was AMAZING!

Mount Dora Quilt Show 2014 ~ Final Post

Look at how tiny this quilt is! The pieces are the size of scraps that I typically toss.

What a great way to use old hankies!

I feel in love with this quilt!
It is such a simple setting, but the details and colors make this prize worthy.

Cat Quilts are so fun!

Another Show stopper!

I love how this forms hearts with the flowers. How original!

I need to make this one!

I have found myself drawn to homespun quilts lately.

This one was too cute. I love the dolls.

I also love how the blocks are set.
The seams don't match up, but the quilt maker knew what she was doing!

This sample blew my mind.
Look at Santa's beard!

What an awesome way to make aLone Star inspired Quilt!

Look at all of the embroidery.

I really liked the kids quilts. This was so original.

This show was so much fun to attend. I always feel so inspired by seeing what other people make.
It makes me want to lock myself into my sewing room and not come out until a masterpiece has been made!

Mount Dora Quilt Show 2014 ~ Part 3

I love looking at Quilts and so does Lisa!!

Up close you can see so much that you just do not notice from a distance!

Quilts can be simple or intricate and they still say sooooo much!

I love the use of colors and applique with this quilt!

This reminds me of a very intricate Round Robin!
One block in the center and then multiple borders or "rounds" to build the quilt.

Blue Quilts draw me to them EVERY TIME!

WOW!

Each of these is a small hexagon!

I thought that this was such an original way to set the blocks/

I love how the colors change so subtly.

One day I too will make a wedding ring quilt.

Look at the detail! This is amazing!

Lisa S wants to make one like this. I see it and think YIKES!!

The booths were really well displayed this year.

Thankfully there was not much that I could not live without!

Aren't these so cute?

This vintage look is so appealing to me.

These cloth birds are so creative.

I want to make one of these statement pieces.

The applique on this quilt is so amazing.

I would love to make one of these as a Block of the Month!

I took SOOOO many pictures that this is not the end of quilt posts!
